Alliance membership

A programme in an alliance can generally book every other member, subject to that airline releasing saver seats to partners.

Tentative figures. All prices are one-way saver or lowest fixed awards unless marked. Programmes change charts with little notice, dynamic programmes can price far above the floors shown, and taxes and carrier surcharges are extra. Each figure carries a source tag: Official read from the programme’s own chart, Secondary from a reputable points site, Check estimated, conflicting or dated. Confirm on the programme’s site before you transfer points.

30 Nov 2026Air India stops redemptions and upgrades on Asiana. Asiana exits Star Alliance on 16 Dec 2026 as it merges into Korean Air (SkyTeam).
16 Sep 2026Qatar Privilege Club eased the June 2026 restriction on redeeming Avios for people outside your account.
1 Aug 2026Cathay raised award fuel surcharges on HKG–India sectors from US$57.43 to US$81.20.
1 Jun 2026Aeroplan repriced its chart. India–Frankfurt/Munich/Zurich business fell to 40,000; India–London partner business rose to 70,000.
20 May 2026Emirates raised premium-cabin award prices by about 15% and added one-way Business Saver.
4 Mar 2026Emirates moved most partners to a distance-based chart. Air Canada, JAL, Jetstar and United stayed on the old chart.
1 Apr 2026Air India replaced distance pricing on its own flights with regional Value and Prime tiers.
1 Nov 2025KrisFlyer devalued its Saver, Advantage and Star Alliance charts and added dynamic Access awards.
