KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes: India Guide

Updated as of 15 Oct 2026. This is now our standing guide to KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes. The November 2026 list is out (book by 31 October, travel 1–30 November). The only India route is Ahmedabad–Singapore in business for 31,500 miles (SQ505), not available 4–15 and 24 November. Check our monthly award sales tracker. Rules are from Singapore Airlines’ Spontaneous Escapes page.

Spontaneous Escapes is Singapore Airlines’ monthly award sale: 30% off Saver awards on a list of routes for travel the following month. India routes can feature, and Singapore can be a hub for onward awards to Bali or Europe. Each discounted sector must independently qualify for the listed route, direction, flight number, cabin and dates; a discounted India–Singapore flight does not automatically discount your connection. The 30% rate here applies to Singapore Airlines; any Scoot offer has separate terms.

What India gets

Cities, directions and cabins change each month. These October 2026 examples are closed for new bookings. Saver baselines use the official chart effective 1 November 2025:

Route (Oct 2026 round)Promo miles, one-wayNormal Saver
Chennai–Singapore, business31,50045,000
Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad–Singapore, economy13,30019,000
Delhi, Mumbai–Singapore, premium economy25,20036,000
Per person, one-way, plus taxes/fees. Selected flights and blackout dates apply; the reverse direction is not automatically included. Ahmedabad also featured business at 31,500 miles.

The real play: Singapore as your hub

Singapore can widen your options, but compare the total cost with a direct flight from India—especially for the Maldives or Sri Lanka. All sectors on a Promo itinerary must qualify; one ineligible flight or date can disqualify the entire itinerary. Split eligible and ineligible travel into separate bookings. Historical October examples from Singapore, one-way:

From Singapore toEconomyBusiness / Premium economy
Bali, Kuala Lumpur5,60015,400
Bangkok, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City9,10017,500
Male (Maldives), Colombo13,30031,500 (Colombo)
Darwin14,350–
Europe30,80052,150 (premium economy)
October offer: booking closed. Selected European cities only; 52,150 is premium economy, not business. Most other Australian offers were to Singapore, not from it.

Example trips from the October round: Two separately priced awards would total 46,900 miles in business for Chennai–Singapore plus Singapore–Bali (31,500 + 15,400; normal separate Saver total 67,000), or 26,600 in economy for Delhi–Singapore plus Singapore–Male (13,300 + 13,300), plus taxes/fees on both. These are illustrative sums, not through-award quotes or guaranteed seats. Both sectors need matching eligible dates and availability. With separate tickets, allow a generous buffer or overnight stay; a delay may leave the onward ticket unprotected.

Visa checklist for Indian passports

SingaporeArrange an entry visa if entering Singapore, unless you qualify for an exemption. The 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility is conditional, not automatic; check ICA’s full eligibility rules before relying on it
MaldivesFree 30-day visa on arrival; fill in the traveller declaration online
Sri LankaETA, currently free for Indians
Indonesia (Bali)Visa on arrival or e-VOA
Separate tickets do not always require immigration clearance. If you must collect bags and check in again, or stay overnight landside, you need to meet Singapore entry requirements. Confirm baggage and airside transfer arrangements with both airlines; check destination entry rules before ticketing.

How to book

  1. Check the new list around the 15th (or our tracker).
  2. On singaporeair.com, choose “Redeem flights” and search the listed route and date.
  3. Choose the Promo fare on eligible flights and verify the discount and taxes/fees in the booking summary.
  4. Check your card’s current transfer ratio, caps, fees and processing time first. Finding a seat does not hold it while points transfer. Once miles are available, recheck every sector and ticket immediately in that booking session.

DealUni take

Spontaneous Escapes can offer good value from India when the listed flights fit fixed plans. Promo tickets have no changes or voluntary cancellation/refund, so compare the full cash cost, taxes and connection risk before committing. Chennai business at an illustrative 31,500 miles and independently eligible onward flights to Bali are worth watching in future lists. Compare it with Qatar and Flying Blue in our monthly award sales tracker.
