Business Class Award Sweet Spots From India (2026 Guide)
๐ Updated as of 3 Oct 2026. Award prices change; we’ll refresh this guide when charts move. Always confirm the price on the airline’s site before transferring points.
Cash business class fares from India have climbed this year, but award charts haven’t moved as much. That makes premium-cabin redemptions better value than ever. These are the sweet spots we’d look at first, with the points you need and the Indian cards that get you there.

1. Singapore Airlines from India with KrisFlyer
The easiest premium award for most Indian readers. 45,000 KrisFlyer miles gets you a Saver business seat from India to Singapore, and 61,500 gets you first class on routes where Singapore Airlines flies it. HDFC Infinia and Diners Black transfer 1:1 through SmartBuy, so it’s 45,000 reward points for a seat that often sells for โน60,000โ90,000.
Tips: Saver seats open about 355 days out and in the last few weeks. Watch for KrisFlyer’s monthly Spontaneous Escapes discounts, which have taken IndiaโSingapore business as low as 31,500 miles.
2. Qatar Airways business with Avios
Qatar’s own Avios price DohaโDelhi or DohaโMumbai at about 37,500 Avios off-peak in business. India to Europe via Doha is the sum of the two legs. Taxes are moderate, as Qatar charges a fixed fee rather than a big fuel surcharge on its own flights.
- Qsuite is mostly on DohaโEurope and DohaโUS flights. India routes often use the older business seat, so check the aircraft.
- Getting Qatar Avios: Axis Magnus for Burgundy (5:2), Amex Membership Rewards (2:1) and HDFC (1:0.5). Watch for Qatar transfer bonuses, which can cut the cost sharply.
3. Star Alliance business with Aeroplan
Air Canada’s Aeroplan uses a distance-based chart, and in its 2026 chart India sits in the same “Atlantic” zone as Europe. That makes medium-distance business class good value: 40,000 points for flights up to 4,000 miles (DelhiโFrankfurt, for example) on Air India, Lufthansa, Swiss and other partners. DelhiโLondon is 70,000, and India to North America starts at 90,000.
- Partner bookings carry a CAD 39 booking fee, and you can add a stopover for 5,000 points.
- Getting Aeroplan: Axis Magnus for Burgundy (5:4) or Marriott Bonvoy (3:1, plus 5,000 bonus miles per 60,000 points). See our post on the current Marriott to Aeroplan 15% bonus.
4. Air India with Maharaja Club
Air India’s new chart, in force since 1 April 2026, moved to regional pricing and cut long-haul business prices. DelhiโSan Francisco in business is now 130,000 points, down from 185,000. The cheapest award levels open up to 30 days before departure, so last-minute trips can work out well.
Getting Maharaja Club points: Axis Atlas (1:2) and Magnus for Burgundy (5:4) are the best routes. Since 23 September, Air India sits in Axis Group A, which has a much smaller yearly transfer cap (30,000 EDGE Miles on Atlas), so plan big transfers carefully.
5. Iberia across the Atlantic
Iberia charges about 34,000 Avios off-peak for business class MadridโNew York or Boston, with lower surcharges than British Airways. No Indian card transfers to Iberia directly, but Qatar and BA Avios can be combined 1:1 into Iberia Plus. Useful if you’re already in Europe and heading to the US East Coast.
How to book these
- Search first. Find the award seat on the airline’s site (singaporeair.com, qatarairways.com, aircanada.com, airindia.com or iberia.com).
- Book early or very late. Premium award seats are released about 11โ12 months out, and more often appear in the final weeks.
- Transfer only what you need. Transfers are one-way and can take a few days. Check your card’s monthly or yearly caps.
- Compare the taxes. Two awards with the same points price can differ by โน20,000 in surcharges.
DealUni take
For most Indian readers, the best starting point is KrisFlyer from HDFC to Singapore and Southeast Asia, and Aeroplan or Air India from Axis to Europe and the US. Qatar Avios is the pick for Middle East and onward-Europe trips, especially during a transfer bonus. Not sure which programme your points suit best? Try the DealUni AI Planner.
