Marriott to Aeroplan 15% Bonus: Worth It for Indians?

Aeroplan is giving a 15% bonus on Marriott Bonvoy points converted to Aeroplan this month. Air Canada calls it the "only chance this year". Sitting on Bonvoy points from the HDFC Marriott card or hotel stays, and eyeing a Star Alliance award? Here's the maths.
How the conversion works

Always convert in blocks of 60,000. That's where the rate jumps to about 2.09 Bonvoy points per Aeroplan point, instead of 2.6.
Is it worth it?
We value Bonvoy points at ₹0.60–0.80 and Aeroplan points at ₹1.20–1.80. So 60,000 Bonvoy points (₹36,000–48,000 in hotel value) become 28,750 Aeroplan points (₹34,500–51,700 in flight value). On paper it's roughly break-even, which means it only makes sense for a specific award.
