Axis Overseas Spends Offer: Up to ₹20,000 Vouchers a Month
📅 Updated as of 1 Oct 2026. Registration is valid till 31 Jan 2027. We’ll mark this post Deal Ended when it closes.
🔎 We’re checking: Axis confirmed our registration by SMS (valid till 31 Jan 2027), but hasn’t published the T&C for this edition yet. The slabs and exclusions below are from the last edition’s official T&C (Mar–Jun 2026). We’ll update this post the moment the new T&C is out.
Axis is back with its Overseas Spends Campaign: spend abroad (or online with foreign merchants) on any Axis credit card and get MakeMyTrip vouchers every month. On its own it’s a decent 2.5–5% back. Stack it with the right card in the right month and it gets very interesting.
How to register
Give a missed call to 91529 72125 from your registered mobile number. You’ll get an SMS confirming your participation. One registration covers all your Axis credit cards, and add-on card spends count towards the primary card. Register before you spend.

The rewards (per calendar month)
| Overseas spend in the month | MakeMyTrip voucher | Effective return |
|---|---|---|
| ₹1,00,000 – ₹2,00,000 | ₹2,500 | 1.25% – 2.5% |
| ₹2,00,001 – ₹4,00,000 | ₹6,000 | 1.5% – 3% |
| Above ₹4,00,000 | ₹18,000 | up to 4.5% |
| Bonus: 3+ in-store transactions abroad in the month | +₹2,000 |
Sweet spot: ₹4,00,001 in one month plus three swipes in a shop abroad = ₹20,000 in vouchers, 5% back. Just under ₹4 lakh earns only ₹6,000, so if you’re close, push it over in the same month.
What counts and what doesn’t
| ✅ Counts | ❌ Doesn’t count |
|---|---|
| Swipes/taps in shops, restaurants and hotels abroad, in foreign currency | ATM cash withdrawals |
| Online purchases from foreign merchants billed in foreign currency (a hotel booked direct, a foreign retailer) | Education, fuel, transportation, telecom and government payments |
| Add-on card spends (pooled with the primary) | Rent, utilities, insurance, gold and jewellery |
| Net of refunds and chargebacks | Wallet loads, gaming, subscriptions and software/app stores |
Always pay in the local currency. If a shop abroad offers to charge you in rupees (dynamic currency conversion), say no: you pay a worse rate, and a rupee charge may not count as an overseas spend.
The double dip: Magnus and the ₹1.5 lakh month
Axis Magnus (and Magnus for Burgundy) earns 12 EDGE points per ₹200 up to ₹1.5 lakh in a calendar month, then 35 per ₹200 on everything above it. The voucher campaign is also monthly. So put your overseas spend in the same calendar month as your ₹1.5 lakh accelerated spend, and you collect both.
Example: a family trip to Europe, ₹4,00,001 spent abroad in November on Magnus for Burgundy.
| A: trip is your only spend that month | B: ₹1.5 lakh already spent in India that month | |
|---|---|---|
| EDGE points on the ₹4 lakh | 9,000 + 43,750 = 52,750 | 70,000 (all at 35/₹200) |
| Airline miles at 5:4 (KrisFlyer, Flying Blue, etc.) | 42,200 ≈ ₹42,200 | 56,000 ≈ ₹56,000 |
| MakeMyTrip vouchers | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 |
| Forex markup (2% + 18% GST) | −₹9,440 | −₹9,440 |
| Net gain | ≈ ₹52,800 (13%) | ≈ ₹66,600 (16.6%) |
The triple dip: points sales billed in dollars
The campaign counts any international transaction in foreign currency, online or offline. Airlines (MCC 4511), hotels (7011), travel agencies (4722) and Points.com (usually 7399) are not on the excluded list. So buying points in a sale that bills you in US dollars can count towards your monthly slab, and on Magnus it earns EDGE points as well. That’s three wins on one purchase: the sale bonus, the Axis voucher and Magnus points.
Points sales running right now, and what each point really costs once you stack everything:
| Sale | Ends | Sale price | Cost incl. forex | + Magnus 35/₹200 | + Axis voucher | + TopCashback 2.5% | Our value |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| IHG, 100% bonus | ~6 Oct | 0.50¢ | ₹0.49 | ₹0.42 | ₹0.40 | ₹0.39 | ₹0.50–0.70 |
| Finnair Plus Avios, up to 50% bonus | 6 Oct | 1.41¢ | ₹1.38 | ₹1.19 | ₹1.13 | not listed | ₹1.20–2.00 |
| World of Hyatt, 20% off | 5 Oct | 2.08¢ | ₹2.04 | ₹1.76 | ₹1.66 | ₹1.61 | ₹1.50–2.50+ |
| Marriott Bonvoy, up to 55% | 23 Nov | 0.81¢ | ₹0.79 | ₹0.68 | ₹0.65 | ₹0.63 | ₹0.60–0.80 |
| Turkish Miles&Smiles, up to 100% | 15 Oct | 1.50¢ | ₹1.47 | ₹1.27 | ₹1.20 | not listed | ₹0.75–1.00 |
Our pick: Finnair Avios. At about ₹1.13 a point after the triple dip, it’s the only sale where you’re clearly ahead, provided you have a Qatar or BA business class award in mind. IHG at ₹0.39 is the cheapest per point but only just beats its value. Marriott and Turkish still cost more than they’re worth unless you’re topping up a specific booking.
The fourth dip: cashback portals
Start the purchase from a cashback or miles portal and you can earn a little more. TopCashback currently lists IHG, World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton purchases through Points.com at 2.5% cashback. Rove and Rakuten run similar portals; check whether they list the programme you’re buying before you click through. A few things to know:
- Clear cookies or use a fresh browser, click through from the portal, and complete the purchase in one go.
- Portal rates change daily and some exclude points purchases in their terms. Screenshot the rate before you buy.
- These are mostly US sites. Check that you can sign up and get paid out from India (PayPal or gift cards) before you count on it.
- Portal cashback is a bonus, not a guarantee. Don’t buy points just to earn it.
Example: you’ve spent ₹3.6 lakh abroad in October on Magnus for Burgundy (₹6,000 slab), and you need IHG points for a stay. You buy 94,000 IHG points for $470 (≈ ₹46,100 including forex) through TopCashback before the sale ends.
| Cost of the points | ₹46,100 |
| Axis voucher jumps from ₹6,000 to ₹18,000 | −₹12,000 |
| Magnus: 8,050 EDGE at 35/₹200 → 6,440 miles at 5:4 | −₹6,440 |
| TopCashback 2.5% on $470 | −₹1,130 |
| Final cost of 94,000 IHG points | ≈ ₹26,500 (₹0.28 a point) |
Rules still apply: buy only the points you need for a booking you’ve already found. Check that the charge shows as an international, foreign-currency transaction on your statement. Purchases and trip spend must fall in the same calendar month. And a refunded purchase is deducted from your total.
Which Axis card to use
| You are… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Magnus for Burgundy | Best card. Only 2% forex, and the ₹1.5 lakh accelerated tier stacks with the vouchers. |
| Magnus (regular) | Still good: same tier, but 5:2 transfers halve the miles. |
| Atlas, SELECT or other cards (3.5% forex) | The 4.13% forex charge eats most of the voucher. Only worth it if you reach the ₹4 lakh slab. |
| Spending under ₹1 lakh abroad | Nothing from this campaign. Use your best zero-forex card instead. |
DealUni take
Register now; it costs nothing. If you’re travelling abroad before 31 January, put the whole trip in one calendar month, cross ₹4 lakh if you’re close, and make sure you’re past ₹1.5 lakh on Magnus that month. Don’t overspend just to hit a slab: a ₹18,000 voucher isn’t worth ₹1 lakh you didn’t need to spend.
Ek hi mahine mein poora trip, aur Magnus pe double fayda. (Put the whole trip in one month and get double the benefit on Magnus.)
