Flying Blue Adds Qantas First, Premium Economy: No Seats Yet
Updated as of 27 Oct 2026. From Flying Blue’s announcement (26 Oct 2026). Award space checked on seats.aero for 10 Feb 2027. Transfer ratios from our Flying Blue page.
Flying Blue miles can now book Qantas Premium Economy and First, not just economy and business. Indian cards transfer to Flying Blue, so this opens two more cabins to Australia, mainly from Singapore, the easiest Qantas hub for Indians to reach.
What changed
- New cabins: Premium Economy and First on flights marketed and operated by Qantas, where those cabins exist, such as Singapore–Melbourne and Sydney–Los Angeles.
- Availability: reward seats are limited and vary by flight and date.
- Lounges: Flying Blue Ultimate members get Qantas First lounges in Los Angeles, Melbourne and Sydney, but not Singapore.
How Indians would use it
Get to Singapore on a cheap award or cash fare, then fly Qantas onward. Qantas flies Singapore–Melbourne and Singapore–Perth nonstop; on 10 Feb 2027, its own programme priced Singapore–Melbourne business at 82,100 points.
But Qantas seats aren’t showing up yet. When we searched Flying Blue from Singapore to Australia on 27 October, every result was on Malaysia Airlines, Jetstar, Garuda or KLM. Not one Qantas flight appeared, in any cabin. The new cabins may take time to load into Flying Blue’s search, or Qantas may be releasing very few seats. Until Qantas flights show up, don’t transfer points for this.

| Axis Atlas (closed to new), Olympus | 1 → 2, 1 → 4 |

| HSBC Premier, Privé, TravelOne | 1 → 1 |

DealUni take: good news on paper, but so far no Qantas seats have shown up in Flying Blue’s search. Keep checking, and don’t move points until a real seat appears. Announcement aa gaya, seat abhi nahi aayi. (The announcement is here; the seats aren’t yet.)
