Accor ALL Guide for Indians: Axis, Status and Free Stays
๐ Updated as of 4 Oct 2026. Rupee values use EUR at โน108.11 (DealUni FX sheet, 3 Oct 2026). Transfer ratios are as of the Axis changes of 23 Sep 2026.
What changed (4 Oct 2026, second update): Platinum breakfast is Asia-Pacific only (weekend breakfast worldwide is Diamond); points expiry resets only when you earn; redemption minimum is 1,000 points; Stay Plus now needs a paid night; Signature annual price corrected; China prices updated; added Axis Primus (1:5) and the Qatar Silver route.
What changed (4 Oct 2026): added the Magnus โน1 lakh milestone era, the Atlas milestones, and how Suite Night Upgrades work.
Before 2023, most Indian points collectors barely looked at Accor. It was “the ibis and Novotel people”. Then Axis Bank made one quiet change, and suddenly Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel were within reach of anyone with an Atlas card. We rode that wave ourselves. Here’s the full story, how Accor works today, and how to still get great stays out of it.
TL;DR
- ๐ถย Every Accor point is worth a fixed โฌ0.02 (about โน2.16)ย off your bill at 5,800+ hotels, with no award chart and no blackout dates.
- ๐ย Axis made Accor huge in Indiaย from April 2023, when Atlas converted 1 mile into 2 Accor points. That deal is gone: Atlas is now 2:1, a quarter of the old value.
- ๐ณย Best transfer today:ย HSBC TravelOne/Premier at 1:1. Axis Olympus (1:2) and Burgundy Private (5:4) are still strong.
- โญย Platinum is the sweet spot in India:ย daily breakfast across Asia-Pacific, lounge access and suite upgrades. Memberships can get you most of the way, but they’re capped at 30 status nights a year (possibly 50 with All Plus China).
- โย Never convert Accor points to airline miles.ย You lose half the value or more.
From one Novotel to 5,800 hotels
| Year | What happened |
|---|---|
| 1967 | Paul Dubrule and Gรฉrard Pรฉlisson open the first Novotel, near Lille in France |
| 1974โ83 | ibis launches (1974), Sofitel is bought (1980), and the group becomes Accor (1983) |
| 2004 | Accor teams up with InterGlobe (IndiGo’s parent group) to build ibis hotels in India |
| 2008โ12 | The A|Club loyalty programme launches, later renamed Le Club AccorHotels |
| 2016 | Accor buys Fairmont, Raffles and Swissรดtel for about US$2.9 billion |
| 2019 | Le Club becomes Accor Live Limitless (ALL) |
| 2021โ26 | Accor India grows from 55 hotels (2021) to about 75 today, with an original target (set with InterGlobe in 2025) of 300 by 2030 |
How Axis changed the game for Indians
The story starts with Axis Magnus. From February 2022, Magnus gave 25,000 bonus EDGE points every month you spent โน1 lakh, on top of 12 points per โน200. Gift cards counted, so many cardholders hit โน1 lakh every month and collected 31,000 points a month. Axis Atlas, launched in 2022, added milestone bonuses of 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000 miles at โน3 lakh, โน7.5 lakh and โน15 lakh of yearly spend.
Then, on 5 April 2023, Axis added Accor as a transfer partner: Atlas at 1 EDGE Mile = 2 Accor points, and Magnus, Reserve and Burgundy Private at 5:4. Because Accor points are pegged to the euro, the maths was spectacular:
| Card (spend type) | 2023 ratio | Return then | Ratio now | Return now |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magnus at โน1 lakh a month (31,000 points, AprโAug 2023) | 5:4 | ๐ข 53.6% | Milestone scrapped | โ |
| Atlas at โน15 lakh a year (all three milestones) | 1:2 | ๐ข 13.7% | 2:1, milestones cut | ๐ด about 2โ3% |
| Atlas (everyday, 2 miles/โน100) | 1:2 | ๐ข 8.6% | 2:1 | ๐ด 2.2% |
| Atlas (travel, 5 miles/โน100) | 1:2 | ๐ข 21.6% | 2:1 | ๐ก 5.4% |
| Magnus (12 points/โน200) | 5:4 | ๐ข 10.4% | 5:1 | ๐ด 2.6% |
| Magnus for Burgundy (35 points/โน200 above โน1.5L a month) | 5:4 | ๐ข 30.3% | 5:2 | ๐ข 15.1% |
Returns calculated at today’s euro rate (โน108.11): 1 Accor point = โน2.16. Caps apply: Atlas can send only 30,000 miles a year to Accor’s group.
A โน1 lakh monthly spend turning into 24,800 Accor points, about โน53,600 off a Raffles or Fairmont bill, was unheard of in India. Axis reportedly became one of the largest buyers of Accor points worldwide, and Indian collectors (us included) made Accor their luxury programme. Then the cuts came:
| When | What changed |
|---|---|
| 1 Sep 2023 | Magnus’s 25,000 monthly milestone scrapped and ratio cut from 5:4 to 5:2 (announced 21 July); new cardholders pay โน12,500. Earn becomes 35 points per โน200 above โน1.5 lakh a month. |
| 30 Sep 2023 | Magnus for Burgundy launches, keeping 5:4 for Burgundy clients |
| Jan 2024 | HDFC Infinia and Diners Black cut from 1:1 to 2:1 |
| 20 Apr 2024 | Atlas milestones halved, travel 5x capped at โน2 lakh a month, and Accor capped at 30,000 miles a year |
| Oct 2025 | Accor Plus becomes ALL Accor+ Explorer; dining discount cut from up to 50% to 30% |
| Dec 2025 | Platinum suite upgrades need requalification; welcome drink becomes an app voucher |
| 2 Apr 2026 | Axis removes Accor overnight (our coverage) |
| 23 Sep 2026 | Axis restores Accor at worse ratios: Atlas 2:1, Magnus 5:1 |
Accor’s brands in India and abroad
| Segment | Brands | In India (examples) |
|---|---|---|
| Luxury | Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Orient Express, Banyan Tree, SO/, MGallery, Emblems | Raffles Udaipur and Jaipur, Fairmont Jaipur and Udaipur Palace, Sofitel Mumbai BKC |
| Premium | Pullman, Swissรดtel, Mรถvenpick, Grand Mercure, Mantis, Peppers | Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, Swissรดtel Kolkata, Mรถvenpick Bengaluru, Grand Mercure Bengaluru |
| Midscale | Novotel, Mercure, Adagio, Mama Shelter | Novotel (Aerocity, Juhu, Hyderabad and more), Mercure |
| Economy | ibis, ibis Styles, ibis budget, greet | ibis (about 20 hotels with InterGlobe), ibis Styles |
How Accor points work
- Earning:ย 25 points per โฌ10 at most hotels (about 5% back), half that at ibis, ibis Styles and Mama Shelter. Status adds 24% (Silver) up to 100% (Diamond).
- Spending:ย 1,000 points = โฌ20 off any bill (the minimum); online, bigger redemptions go in 2,000-point steps. Points can pay for part of a stay, and the value is the same at an ibis or a Raffles.
- Expiry:ย points expire after 12 months with no activity. Onlyย earningย (a stay, a card transfer, a partner) resets the clock; spending doesn’t. Card transfers never count towards status.
Cards that transfer to Accor today:
| Card | Ratio (card : Accor) | โน value per card point |
|---|---|---|
| Axis Primus | 1:5 | ๐ข โน10.81 |
| Axis Olympus | 1:2 | ๐ข โน4.32 |
| HSBC TravelOne / Premier | 1:1 | ๐ข โน2.16 |
| Axis Burgundy Private | 5:4 | ๐ข โน1.73 |
| HDFC Infinia, Diners Black, Regalia Gold; SBI MILES; Kotak | 2:1 | ๐ก โน1.08 |
| Axis Atlas, Horizon | 2:1 | ๐ก โน1.08 |
| Axis Magnus for Burgundy | 5:2 | ๐ด โน0.86 |
| Axis Magnus, Reserve | 5:1 | ๐ด โน0.43 |
| IndiGo BluChip (since Jul 2026) | 6:1 | ๐ก โน0.36 (rescue only) |
HDFC Infinia points are worth โน1 on SmartBuy, so 2:1 to Accor barely beats them. Axis charges โน199 + GST per transfer.
Status: what you get and the shortcuts
| Tier | Qualify (nights or status points) | Key benefits |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | 10 nights or 2,000 | +24% points, late checkout |
| Gold | 30 nights or 7,000 | +48%, room upgrade, early check-in or late checkout |
| Platinum | 60 nights or 14,000 | +76%, lounge, 2 Suite Night Upgrades, breakfast daily in Asia-Pacific |
| Diamond | 26,000 status points | +100%, Fairmont Gold lounges, weekend breakfast worldwide, โฌ100 of dining or spa rewards, gift Gold to someone |
You earn 25 status points per โฌ10, so Platinum by spend means about โฌ5,600 a year. There’s no lifetime status.
Suite Night Upgrades (SNUs): reaching Platinum gives you 2, a third arrives at 18,000 status points, and then one more for every 4,000 points (up to 12 a year), so Diamond holders typically have 5. They confirm instantly at brands like Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel and Pullman (one per night; not on promo rates or points bookings), and expire on 31 December of the following year. Since December 2025 the 2 base SNUs come only when you requalify with real nights or points. Unlike Marriott and Hilton, Accor gives no free night certificate at any tier; Diamond’s perk is 10 ร โฌ10 dining and spa vouchers.
Shortcuts to status: memberships and the 30-night cap
| Route | Cost | Status credit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ALL Accor+ Explorer(paid) | โน23,199 a year from 1 Oct 2026 (existing members on auto-renew may keep โน19,499) | 30 status nights = Gold | Plus Stay Plus (a free night when you pay for one, since Oct 2025), 15% off stays, 30% off food in Asia-Pacific |
| Explorer free with Axis Burgundy Private | Card benefit | 30 nights | The full version, Stay Plus included |
| Explorer free with Amex Platinum Charge or Platinum Reserve | Card benefit | 20 nights = Silver | A cut-down version: no Stay Plus nights |
| All Plus China (Accor’s WeChat mini-program) | Premium CNY 1,488 (โน21,400); Supreme CNY 2,688 (โน38,600), list prices Feb 2026 | 20 or 30 nights | Foreigners can buy it with a card linked to WeChat Pay; vouchers work only in China, Hong Kong and Macau |
| ALL Signature (Brazil subscription) | Absolute tier BRL 8,390 paid annually (about โน1.55 lakh) | 12,000 status points + 30 status nights a year (5 a month, capped) | Comes with 75,000 points (โน1.62 lakh) a year |
Prices checked 4 Oct 2026. BRL converted via EUR at โน108.11; CNY at โน14.37 (DealUni FX sheet, 3โ4 Oct 2026).
The cap you need to know: since 1 October 2025, Accor counts a maximum of 30 status nights a year from all memberships combined. Holding Explorer and an Amex card doesn’t give you 50; it gives you 30. Accor China says All Plus China sits outside the cap: buy Explorer first, then China Premium, and you can reach 50 nights. Accor’s global rules don’t confirm this, so treat 50 as a risk. Ten real nights then take you to Platinum. Limited-time Fast Track promotions don’t count towards the cap.
ALL Signature after the devaluation: Accor raised Absolute from July 2026 to BRL 760 a month, or BRL 8,390 paid annually (was 7,165), and since April 2026 it also gives status nights: 5 a month, which fills the 30-night cap on its own, so stacking it with Explorer adds no nights. It’s still worth it if you’ll use the points anyway: you pay about โน1.55 lakh and get back 75,000 points worth โน1.62 lakh, so the 12,000 status points cost you little more than your card’s forex markup. Platinum needs 14,000 status points, so add about โฌ800 (โน86,000) of paid stays. Indian cards work for signing up (we’ve done it); the streaming perks need a Brazilian phone number. Renewal is the catch: RBI’s e-mandate rules often block foreign auto-renewals on Indian cards, so pay annually and renew manually. See our Signature guide and last year’s 30%-off Black Friday sale.
Qatar Airways link: Qatar Platinum gets you ALL Gold. ALL Gold gets you Qatar Silver (oneworld Ruby) after one paid Qatar flight, so Explorer alone can do it; ALL Platinum gets you Qatar Gold. Also see how to buy Explorer for less.
Our own Accor stays on points
We’re ALL Platinum and ALL Accor+ Explorer members (we paid โน16,520 to renew in 2025). Here’s where our points and benefits actually went, straight from our booking emails:
| Stay | Paid with | Full price |
|---|---|---|
| Raffles Seychelles, Hillside Pool Villa, Jun 2024, 3 nights | 115,000 points + โฌ997 | โฌ3,297 (โน3.56 lakh) |
| Fairmont Mara Safari Club, Kenya, MayโJun 2024, 4 nights | 100,000 points + US$277 | US$2,170 (โน2.09 lakh) |
| Fairmont The Norfolk, Nairobi, Jun 2024, 1 night, half board | 10,000 points + US$146 | US$363 |
| Raffles Udaipur, Aug 2025, 2 nights | Points at check-out | โน76,452; Platinum upgraded us from a Lakeshore room to an island suite |
| Premier Village Phu Quoc, Jan 2026, two 3-bedroom pool villas for 16 people | Points at check-in | US$1,207 with breakfast, plus a free group pickup as a goodwill gesture |
| Novotel Saigon Centre (2 rooms, 2 nights) and Mercure Ba Na Hills (3 rooms, 1 night) | 6,000 and 4,000 points + cash | Explorer 15% off and member rates, breakfast included |
| Pullman Chennai Anna Salai (Jun 2025) and Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara (Jun 2026) | Explorer Stay Plus | One free night each |
Rupee values at today’s DealUni FX sheet rates (EUR โน108.11, USD โน96.34). Points are worth โฌ0.02 each, so 115,000 points took โฌ2,300 off the Raffles Seychelles bill.

Honest caveats: at Phu Quoc, Platinum didn’t get us an early check-in on a full day, and our Kenya and Seychelles stays initially didn’t earn points because extras were billed separately. Keep your invoices and chase missing points.
How to get the most out of Accor
- Spend points where status pays.ย A point is worth โน2.16 everywhere, so the extra value comes from upgrades, breakfast and lounges. That’s why we use them at Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel, not ibis.
- Use points on the hotel’s best rate.ย Book the cheapest flexible rate (including Explorer member rates; Red Hot Room rates usually can’t be paid with points) and pay with points; the discount applies to whatever price you book.
- Pick villas for families.ย Multi-bedroom villas often cost less than two rooms, as our Phu Quoc stay showed.
- Keep points alive.ย With a 12-month expiry, earn something every year (one stay or a small card transfer); spending alone doesn’t reset the clock. Small balances are best used on a bill, like our 4,000 points at Ba Na Hills. Watch forย HSBC transfer bonusesย too.
Airline transfers: Accor converts to 30+ airlines, mostly at 2:1. That turns โน2.16 of hotel value into about โน0.50โ0.80 of miles, so don’t. Details in our hotel-to-airline guide.
What to do
| You areโฆ | What to do |
|---|---|
| Holding HSBC TravelOne or Premier | โ Accor at 1:1 is your best hotel transfer |
| Holding Axis Atlas or Magnus | โ Don’t transfer to Accor now; airline partners give more |
| Holding Axis Olympus or Burgundy Private | โ Still excellent; transfer for a specific luxury stay |
| Dining often at Novotel, Pullman or Sofitel in India | โ Explorer’s 30% off food can repay the โน23,199 fee |
| Chasing Platinum without 60 nights | โ Explorer (30) + All Plus China (20) + 10 paid nights, or Signature’s 12,000 status points + about โฌ800 of stays |
| Holding orphan IndiGo BluChips | ๐ก Convert to Accor before they expire |
DealUni take
Axis made Accor India’s favourite luxury programme, then took most of the magic away. Accor is still simple (โน2.16 a point, no charts, no blackouts) and Platinum is excellent in Asia. Feed it from HSBC, Olympus or Burgundy Private, and spend where status shines.
Accor ka point seedha-saadha hai: har jagah do rupaye solah paise. (An Accor point keeps it simple: โน2.16 everywhere.)
