Eternal SBI Card: 10% Off Zomato and Blinkit, Worth ₹499?
Updated as of 15 Oct 2026. Based on SBI Card and Eternal’s launch announcement of 15 Oct 2026. The full terms aren’t on sbicard.com yet; we’ll update this post when they are. Fees are before 18% GST.
Swiggy has its HDFC cards. Now Zomato’s parent, Eternal, has its own: the Eternal SBI Card, built around Zomato, Blinkit and District. It gives a 10% instant discount on those apps for a ₹499 joining fee. You can request early access in the Zomato, Blinkit and District apps from today, and cards roll out from 22 October.
What you get
| Where | Benefit | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Zomato, District, Bistro, and Blinkit electronics and beauty | 10% instant discount | ₹2,000 a month, combined |
| Everything else on Blinkit | 5% instant discount | Not stated |
| Uber, ixigo, Urban Company, Apollo 24/7 | 5% cashback | ₹1,000 a month |
| Movies on District | Buy one, get one | Terms not out yet |
| Fuel | 1% surcharge waiver | — |
| Joining fee | ₹499, with 6 months of Zomato Gold | — |
| Renewal fee | Waived if you spend ₹2 lakh in the year | — |
| Network | Mastercard or RuPay | — |
Not confirmed yet: what you earn on everyday spends outside these apps, the forex markup, and lounge access. We’ll add them once SBI publishes the card’s terms. Pick the RuPay version if you want to pay by UPI with it.
The maths
The 10% cap of ₹2,000 a month means the discount stops growing after ₹20,000 of spend on those apps. Most people won’t get near that. A more typical month:
| Monthly spend | Amount | Saved |
|---|---|---|
| Zomato orders (10%) | ₹6,000 | ₹600 |
| Blinkit groceries (5%) | ₹5,000 | ₹250 |
| Uber rides (5%) | ₹2,000 | ₹100 |
| Total | ₹13,000 | ₹950 a month, ₹11,400 a year |
Against a ₹589 fee (with GST), that’s a clear win. Even a family that orders ₹1,500 a month on Zomato saves ₹1,800 a year, three times the fee.
Eternal SBI vs the Swiggy HDFC cards
| Eternal SBI | Swiggy BLCK (HDFC) | Swiggy Ornge (HDFC) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Food app | 10% on Zomato | 10% on Swiggy | 5% on Swiggy |
| Groceries | 5% on Blinkit (10% on electronics and beauty) | 10% on Instamart | 5% on Instamart |
| Food and grocery cap | ₹2,000 a month on the 10% rate | ₹1,500 a month on 10% | ₹1,500 a month on 5% |
| Other online spends | 5% at four partners only | 5% on all online | 5% on all online |
| Annual fee | ₹499 | ₹1,000 | ₹500 (free if upgraded) |
Pick the card that matches the app on your phone. If you use both, Eternal SBI is the cheaper card to hold, but Swiggy BLCK is better for general online shopping, because its 5% works everywhere online, not at just four partners.
Who should get it
| You are… | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Ordering on Zomato or Blinkit every week | ✅ Get it. It pays for itself in the first month |
| A Swiggy and Instamart household | ❌ Skip. Look at Swiggy BLCK |
| Collecting points for flights | ❌ It’s cashback only, with no airline or hotel transfers. Keep your travel card for everything else |
| Paying for big purchases abroad | ❌ Wait for SBI’s terms; co-brand cards usually carry a high forex markup |
