JAL 30% Off Awards: Tokyo–Paris Business for 39,900 Miles

Japan Airlines is selling award seats for 30% fewer miles on its flights from Japan to Europe and North America. India isn’t on the list, so this isn’t a deal from Delhi or Bengaluru. But if you’re heading to Paris or New York and happy to stop in Japan on the way, it’s one of the cheapest business-class awards around right now.

- 📅 Book by 31 Oct. Open to JAL Mileage Bank members in any country. No registration; the lower price shows when you search.
- 🇮🇳 No India flights included. Delhi/Bengaluru–Tokyo stays at the normal price.
- ⚠️ Catches: only when a normal-price award seat is free, no first class, and JAL adds fuel surcharges and taxes in cash.

How Indians can use it: stop in Japan
JAL flies nonstop to Tokyo from Delhi and Bengaluru. Book that leg as a normal award, spend a few days in Japan, then use the discounted award onward. Book them as two separate one-way awards.

Flying to the US? Tokyo–New York or Tokyo–San Francisco in economy is 18,900 miles (about ₹21,260) on top of your India–Tokyo flight. Premium and business to North America aren’t discounted.
Getting JAL miles from India
- Axis Bank (fastest): JAL is a Group A partner. Atlas converts 1 EDGE Mile to 2 JAL miles, Magnus for Burgundy and Burgundy Private 5:4, Magnus and Reserve 5:2, and Olympus 1:4. Transfers usually arrive within 3 working days, so you can still make the 31 Oct deadline. Watch the Group A yearly cap (Atlas: 30,000 EDGE Miles, which is 60,000 JAL miles), and Axis charges ₹199 + GST per transfer.
- SBI Card MILES, MILES ELITE and MILES PRIME: 2 travel credits = 1 JAL mile. Transfers can take up to 21 days, so start now if you want to book by 31 Oct.
- Marriott Bonvoy: 3 points = 1 mile, with a bonus at 60,000 points (60,000 points = 25,000 miles).
- Fly JAL or oneworld partners and credit the miles to JAL Mileage Bank.
Check seats on jal.co.jp before you transfer. The discount applies only when a normal-price award seat exists, and bank transfers can’t be reversed.
