Qatar Privilege Deals: 25% Off Avios Awards From India
Updated as of 8 Oct 2026. Terms are from Qatar Airways’ Privilege Deals page. Transfer ratios are from the DealUni transfer sheet (Oct 2026). We value a Qatar Avios at ₹0.90–1.40.
Flying Blue has Promo Rewards and KrisFlyer has Spontaneous Escapes. Now Qatar Airways has its own monthly award sale: Privilege Deals, with 25% fewer Avios on a new list of routes every month. On paper the routes are all from Doha. But one rule makes it far more useful for us in India: if your trip starts or ends in a promo city, the whole itinerary through Doha is discounted. So Delhi–Doha–Warsaw in business is 25% off, even though Delhi isn’t on the list.
How Privilege Deals work
| Discount | 25% fewer Avios on the listed routes. Taxes and fees are not discounted |
| How often | A new list every month, “generally released on the 5th”, says Qatar |
| Booking window | Short: about 4–10 days (this round: 5–14 Oct) |
| Travel window | Roughly the next 6–8 weeks (this round: to 30 Nov) |
| Flights | Qatar Airways-operated only. No oneworld or partner flights |
| Connections | If the trip starts or ends in a promo city, the whole journey via Doha gets the 25% off |
| Who can book | Logged-in Privilege Club members on qatarairways.com or the app; up to 9 passengers per booking, unlimited bookings |
| Changes and cancellations | Allowed up to 3 hours before departure: US$25 if more than 24 hours out, US$100 within 24 hours. Gold and Platinum members pay nothing |
| Not allowed | Combining with other Avios offers. Changing to a non-promo date means paying the full Avios price |
That cancellation rule is the big difference from the other two sales. KrisFlyer’s Spontaneous Escapes can’t be changed or refunded, and Flying Blue’s promo fares are usually non-refundable “Light” fares. Qatar lets you cancel for US$25 (about ₹2,400). You can lock in a seat today and decide later.
This round: book by 14 Oct, fly by 30 Nov
| Business, from Doha | Avios | Economy, from Doha | Avios |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warsaw | 32,250 | Singapore | 18,750 |
| Amman | 29,250 | Casablanca | 16,875 |
| Bucharest, Ankara, Yerevan, Tunis, Zanzibar | 26,250 | Stockholm, Nice | 16,125 |
| Jeddah, Medina | 15,750 | Istanbul, Entebbe | 13,125 |
| Salalah | 10,500 | Sharjah, Muscat, Dammam | 5,250 |

It’s official that India counts. Qatar’s terms say the deals work on an origin-and-destination basis: members “may redeem eligible award flights between any Qatar Airways destination and the featured destination, in either direction”. So Delhi–Warsaw or Warsaw–Mumbai via Doha qualifies.
Why Indian travellers should care
- Qatar flies from more than a dozen Indian cities. Most of us are one hop from Doha, so the “starts or ends in a promo city” rule turns a Doha sale into an India sale.
- Europe in business via Doha. Warsaw and Bucharest are on this round’s business list. Both are Schengen, so one visa covers onward trips.
- Umrah in business. Jeddah and Medina business at 25% off is the most useful route this month for families from Hyderabad, Kerala, Mumbai and Lucknow.
- Visa-easy holidays. Yerevan (Armenia e-visa) and Zanzibar (Tanzania e-visa) are both on the business list. Istanbul is on the economy list (Turkey e-visa if you hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa).
- Low taxes, no fuel surcharge. Qatar charges a booking fee but no big fuel surcharge, unlike Flying Blue ex-India, where business taxes can top ₹30,000.
- Refundable. At US$25 to cancel, it’s the lowest-risk of the three monthly sales.
What it costs from India
Qatar doesn’t publish an award chart for its own flights, and prices vary by city, season and date. The table below gives Doha-origin promo prices reported for recent rounds, and our estimate for India via Doha. Always search your exact dates on qatarairways.com before you transfer.
| Trip (one-way, off-peak) | Normal | With 25% off |
|---|---|---|
| Doha–Warsaw, business | 43,000 | 32,250 |
| Doha–Colombo, business (Sep round) | 35,000 | 26,250 |
| Doha–Singapore, economy | 25,000 | 18,750 |
| Delhi or Mumbai–Doha–Europe, business (our estimate) | about 55,000 | about 41,250 |
| Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Kolkata–Doha–Europe, business (our estimate) | about 65,000 | about 48,750 |
| Delhi or Mumbai–Doha–Europe, economy (our estimate) | about 27,500 | about 20,625 |
Sweet spot this round: Delhi or Mumbai to Warsaw in business for about 41,000 Avios one-way. At our ₹0.90–1.40 value that’s ₹37,000–58,000 of points. Compare it with the cash fare for your dates; when business fares to Europe are over a lakh, this is a strong use of Avios. Add a cheap flight within Europe and you have a Europe trip in business.
Which cards transfer to Qatar Avios
| Card | Ratio (points : Avios) | For 41,250 Avios | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| HSBC TravelOne / Premier | 1:1 | 41,250 | Best ratio. No fee, within 3 working days |
| SBI Card MILES / PRIME / ELITE | 1:1 to BA Avios | 41,250 | Transfer to British Airways, then move Avios to Qatar (see below). Allow up to 21 days |
| Axis Burgundy Private | 5:4 | 51,563 | No fee |
| Axis Olympus | 1:2 | 20,625 | Ex-Citi Prestige; ₹199 + GST fee unless migrated |
| HDFC Infinia / Diners Black | 1:0.5 | 82,500 | Via SmartBuy |
| Amex Platinum, Gold, MRCC, Plat Travel | 2:1 | 82,500 | Minimum 1,000 MR |
| Axis Magnus for Burgundy | 5:2 | 1,03,125 | Group A cap 2 lakh EDGE a year; ₹199 + GST |
| Axis Atlas, Horizon | 2:1 | 82,500 | Atlas: Group A cap 30,000 a year |
| Axis Magnus, Reserve | 5:1 | 2,06,250 | Poor value |
| HDFC Regalia Gold | 3:1 | 1,23,750 | Poor value |
The BA trick. British Airways and Qatar both use Avios, and you can move Avios between the two accounts 1:1 with “Combine my Avios” on qatarairways.com. So any card that sends points to British Airways (SBI MILES, for one) also works for Qatar. Link the accounts in advance; the move is usually instant once they’re linked.
Family pooling: Qatar lets up to 9 family and friends pool Avios into one account, so two people can each transfer from their own cards and book a family trip together.
How to book
- Join Privilege Club (free) and log in on qatarairways.com or the app.
- Search “Book with Avios” from your Indian city to the promo city, for example Mumbai to Warsaw, on dates inside the travel window.
- Check that the Avios price is 25% below normal. If it isn’t, the date or flight doesn’t qualify.
- Only then transfer points. Never transfer before you’ve seen the seat.
- Book quickly. The window closes in days, and seats are first come, first served.
The catches
- Short notice. You get about 10 days to book and about 8 weeks to fly. It suits flexible travellers, not school-holiday families.
- Doha transit. The Gulf has had airspace disruptions in 2026. Check Qatar’s flight status before you fly; the low cancellation fee helps here.
- No India-to-Doha deals yet. Indian cities haven’t been on any list, so the trip must start or end in a promo city.
- Cash fees. Expect around US$90–250 in booking fees plus taxes on each one-way.
- Slow transfers. SBI can take weeks. If your points aren’t with HSBC, Amex or Axis, start a month ahead and wait for a good round.
DealUni take
Of the three monthly award sales, Qatar’s is the most flexible and the easiest for Indians to use: a 25% discount that follows you through Doha, low fees and US$25 cancellations. Its weakness is the short notice. Keep some HSBC or Amex points ready, check the list in the first week of each month, and when a city you want shows up, book that day. We track all three sales every month in our monthly award sales tracker.
