Apple Cashback Up to ₹15,000: Amex vs Axis vs ICICI
Updated as of 22 Oct 2026. Clarified which wallets qualify for Visa Power Travel’s 10%. Offers, prices and terms from Apple (India, US, Singapore, UAE), Amex, ICICI, HSBC, HDFC SmartBuy, Axis, Visa and CBIC pages, checked 22 Oct 2026. FX on 22 Oct 2026: US$1 = ₹94.43, S$1 = ₹73.96, AED 1 = ₹25.76.
Buying a Mac or iPhone this festive season? Apple India is giving up to ₹15,000 instant cashback on Amex, Axis and ICICI cards. But the cashback is only the start. The right card, the right portal, a GST number or a trip abroad can each save you far more. We priced a 14-inch MacBook Pro every way we could find.
TL;DR
- Cheapest in India: Apple’s cashback plus an Axis Magnus for Burgundy card in a month you’ve already spent ₹1.5 lakh. About ₹1.93 lakh after points, against ₹2.40 lakh list.
- Have a GST number and a business use? Claiming the 18% input credit beats the cashback.
- Flying to the US or Singapore anyway? A Visa card tapped through Google Pay or Samsung Pay gets 10.5% back, and one laptop comes in duty-free. About ₹1.73 lakh in the US.
- HSBC’s 6X on Apple works on MacBooks but not the iPhone 18 Pro, and ends 31 Oct.
- Amex Platinum Charge no longer gets 5X at Apple. Reward Multiplier ended on 30 Sep.

Axis Magnus for Burgundy: time it to your ₹1.5 lakh month
Magnus for Burgundy earns 12 EDGE Reward points per ₹200 on the first ₹1.5 lakh you spend in a calendar month, and 35 per ₹200 above that (up to your credit limit plus ₹1.5 lakh). Axis is also one of Apple’s three cashback banks, so you get both.
- Already spent ₹1.5 lakh this month? The whole ₹2,24,900 earns at 35: 39,357 points, or 31,486 airline miles at Burgundy’s 5:4 ratio. That’s about 14% back on top of the cashback.
- Normal month? The Mac itself carries you over ₹1.5 lakh: 22,107 points, or 17,686 miles.
- Pay in full. Check that the ₹15,000 shows at checkout before you pay.
HDFC Infinia: Imagine via SmartBuy
Imagine, an Apple Premium Partner, is a SmartBuy partner. Infinia earns 5X there (check the rate on the Imagine tile before you buy): 25 points per ₹150 instead of 5. The catch is SmartBuy’s 15,000 bonus points a month cap, shared with flights, hotels and vouchers. A MacBook Pro hits it at about ₹1.1 lakh, so you get about 23,000 points in all. Infinia points are worth ₹1 on Apple products and on flights and hotels through SmartBuy.
There’s no Apple bank cashback at Imagine, so this only wins if Imagine runs its own discount that day, or if you’ve nothing else on SmartBuy this month. Check the price before you pay.
HSBC: 6X on Apple via Unicorn, until 31 Oct
HSBC cardholders get accelerated points on Apple products bought through the HSBC Unicorn portal, online only:
| Card | Older models (incl. MacBook Air M5, MacBook Pro M5) | New launches (iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max, AirPods 5) |
|---|---|---|
| HSBC Privé | 6X: 30 points per ₹150 | 2X: 10 per ₹150 |
| HSBC Premier | 6X: 18 points per ₹100 | 2X: 6 per ₹100 |
| HSBC Visa / RuPay Platinum | 5X: 10 points per ₹150 | 2X: 4 per ₹150 |

- Cap: 20,000 bonus points a month, shared with add-on cards. You hit it at about ₹1.2 lakh on Privé and ₹1.33 lakh on Premier, so a MacBook Pro earns about 27,000–28,000 points, not the full 6X.
- New launches: only one per card, at just 2X. For an iPhone 18 Pro, HSBC is no better than normal.
- Full payment only (no EMI), Unicorn’s list price, and a 3% charge if you cancel.
- Premier and Privé points transfer 1:1 to airline and hotel partners.

Amex Platinum Charge: no more 5X on Apple
Amex’s Reward Multiplier, which gave Platinum Charge 5X on Apple, ended on 30 Sep 2026. Its replacements don’t help: the new Reward Xcelerator (10X–20X) doesn’t list Apple, and ShopWise’s 5X is on e-vouchers, which would cost you Apple’s card cashback. So it’s the base 1 point per ₹40 plus the ₹15,000 cashback. Fine, not special.
Have a GST number? Claim the input credit instead
Apple India sells to businesses with a GST invoice, but business purchases don’t get the cashback or No Cost EMI. If the Mac is for your business, the 18% GST in the price can come back as input tax credit: ₹36,595 on a ₹2,39,900 MacBook Pro, more than twice the cashback. You can still pay with your best points card.
The credit is for goods used in your business, not personal devices bought through the company. Check with your CA before you claim it.
Flying abroad? Visa Power Travel changes the maths
Until 31 Jan 2027, India-issued Visa cards earn 0.5% on in-person spends anywhere outside India, plus 10% more when you tap via Google Pay or Samsung Pay. Rewards come as Air India or Amazon gift cards, up to ₹50,000 per card. Register your card at visapowertravel.com first. There’s also a one-time ₹10,000 bonus after ₹1 lakh across 20 transactions.

| Bought at | MacBook Pro 14″ | iPhone 18 Pro (incl. customs duty) |
|---|---|---|
| Apple India + cashback | ₹2,24,900 | ₹1,57,900 |
| Apple US (US$1,999 / US$1,199) | ₹1,72,900 | ₹1,17,100 |
| Apple Singapore (S$2,699 / S$1,899) | ₹1,82,900 + GST refund | ₹1,51,600 + GST refund |
| Apple Dubai (AED 8,499 / 5,099) | ₹2,00,500 + VAT refund | ₹1,40,000 + VAT refund |
- Customs: under the Baggage Rules 2026, each adult can bring one new laptop duty-free, on top of the ₹75,000 allowance. A phone counts against the ₹75,000, and the excess is charged 35%. Declare it at the red channel.
- Google Pay or Samsung Pay only. Visa’s terms (October 2026 version, checked 22 Oct) list just these two wallets for the 10%. Some users report Apple Pay taps also earning it, but Visa hasn’t added Apple Pay to the terms, so iPhone users should count on 0.5% until it does. Tap from an Android phone if you have one.
- Warranty and SIM: Apple’s Mac warranty works internationally. US iPhones are eSIM-only, which works with Jio, Airtel and Vi.
- Only worth it if you’re travelling anyway. A flight to buy a laptop doesn’t pay off.
Buying an iPhone 17? Skip Apple, use ICICI at a reseller
| iPhone | Apple (all 3 banks) | ICICI at resellers, full payment | ICICI at resellers, EMI |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18 Pro / Pro Max / Duo | ₹7,000 | ₹6,000 | ₹7,000 |
| iPhone 17 | ₹1,000 | ₹4,000 | ₹5,000 |
| iPhone Air | ₹7,000 | ₹3,000 | ₹4,000 |
| iPhone 17e | ₹1,000 | ₹2,000 | ₹3,000 |
EMI warning: many banks pay no reward points on spends converted to EMI, and HSBC’s 6X excludes EMI. If you’re buying for the points, pay in full.

DealUni take: Apple’s ₹15,000 is the floor, not the deal. The real wins are Magnus for Burgundy in a big month, a GST invoice if you’re a business, or a US or Singapore trip with an Android phone in your pocket. Mac sasta chahiye toh card aur timing dono sahi chuno. (Want a cheaper Mac? Pick the right card and the right timing.)
