Quick Hits: Air India Course-by-Course Dining, Axis Visa Festive
Updated as of 23 Oct 2026. From Air India’s 22 Oct press release and Axis Bank and Visa’s 19 Oct festive campaign announcement.
1. Air India business class gets course-by-course dining
Air India is replacing the single tray in business class with restaurant-style service: each course plated separately on a linen-laid table, with new tableware for starters, mains, cheese and dessert. It starts on India–UK flights to London Heathrow, Gatwick and Birmingham, then moves to the A350, 787-9 and 777-300 and other international routes. Air India hasn’t given dates for the wider rollout.
Why it matters: if you’re using points for Air India business to London, the ground experience just got closer to Gulf carriers, without their fuel surcharges. Aeroplan, KrisFlyer and Air India’s own Maharaja Club can all book these seats; compare prices on our Airline Partner Map.
2. Axis Bank × Visa “Dil Se Open” festive offers
Axis Bank and Visa have launched a festive campaign with discounts and EMI offers of up to 20% across 100+ brands on Axis Bank Visa credit cards. Travel partners are Air India, MakeMyTrip and ixigo; the rest are electronics (LG, Samsung, Sony, vivo, OPPO) and luxury fashion (Burberry, Boss, Coach, Tory Burch).
The catch: neither bank has published per-brand discounts, caps or end dates, and 20% is the best case, not the norm. Mastercard and RuPay Axis cards aren’t included. Check the offer in the Axis app or on the brand’s payment page before you book, and compare it with paying by points.
DealUni take: Air India’s new dining is a nice upgrade on London points flights. The Axis offer is worth a quick check at checkout, nothing more until the terms are out. Offer dekho, par terms pehle padho. (Look at the offer, but read the terms first.)
