Quick Hits: Hyatt points 20% off, GHA D$ 15% off
Updated as of 24 Oct 2026. Offer terms from World of Hyatt, GHA Discovery and Qatar Airways Privilege Club, checked 24 Oct 2026. Rupee values use DealUni’s FX sheet (US$1 = ₹94.43). Point values are midpoints from DealUni’s Program Values sheet.
Three short ones this week: Hyatt points are on sale, GHA is selling Discovery Dollars at a discount, and Qatar has a status offer that suits only a few readers.
1. Hyatt points at 20% off, until 21 December
| Discount | 20% off bought World of Hyatt points |
| Dates | 20 Oct – 21 Dec 2026 |
| Price | About 2.08 US cents a point = ₹1.96, about ₹2.01 with a 2% forex markup and GST |
| Limits | Minimum 3,000 points a purchase; up to 1,10,000 points during the sale (normally 55,000 a year) |
| Catch | Your account must be at least 60 days old |
The maths: at about ₹2 a point you’re paying more than our ₹1.5 midpoint. It only works when the cash rate is high. A 15,000-point night costs about ₹30,000 in bought points, so buy only if the same room costs more than that in cash, including taxes. Peak dates at Park Hyatt and Alila hotels often do; most city hotels in India don’t. For how Hyatt points work and which Indian cards earn them, see our World of Hyatt guide.
2. GHA Discovery Dollars at 15% off, until 19 November
| Price | US$0.85 per D$1 (₹80.27), 15% off |
| Dates | 22 Oct – 19 Nov 2026 |
| Limits | D$10 minimum, D$5,000 maximum |
| Expiry | 24 months |
| Catch | Can’t pay taxes and fees; not valid on rates booked through travel sites; not sold in some countries |
The maths: D$1 pays US$1 of room or restaurant spend at GHA hotels (Anantara, Kempinski, NH, Minor and others), so 15% off is a straight 15% discount. After a 2% forex markup and GST you keep about 12.6%. Buy only what you’ll spend on a stay you’ve already planned, booked directly with the hotel. Taxes are still paid in cash. See also our post on GHA Discovery and Minor Hotels.
3. Qatar “Get your tier back”: Doha only
Privilege Club members who were downgraded between 1 March and 18 December 2026 can win their old tier back with a qualifying trip. The catch for Indian readers: the trip must start in Doha, and only on flights sold and flown by Qatar Airways. Book from 11 Oct to 18 Dec 2026 and travel by 1 April 2027. The offer is on Qatar’s Qatar-market page only, with reference code 2610PC080. If you live in India, skip it.
What to do
| You are… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Booking a high-priced Hyatt stay soon | ⚠️ Compare cash with points at ₹2 each; buy only if points win |
| Buying Hyatt points “for later” | ❌ Skip; ₹2 a point is above what they’re usually worth |
| Staying at an Anantara or Kempinski in the next two years | ✅ Buy D$ for that stay; about 12.6% off after forex |
| Living in Doha after a Qatar downgrade | ✅ Check the tier-back offer before 18 December |
DealUni take: GHA’s D$ sale is the better buy, but only for a stay you’ve planned. The Hyatt sale is a tool for one expensive booking, not a stockpile. Sale dekh ke mat khareedo, booking dekh ke khareedo. (Don’t buy because of the sale; buy because of the booking.)
