Source: Air India FLYUS USA Sale terms, 19 Oct 2026. Air India doesn’t say which cabins are included or whether “up to ₹20,000” is per passenger or per booking.
Extra perks if you log in
- Up to 15% off fares for logged-in Maharaja Club members, which Air India says is “in addition to the Offer”.
- One free date change on bookings made by 22 October on the website or app.
- Up to 50% off the convenience fee, on bookings that start in India only.
One clash to watch: the same terms also say only one promo code works per booking and FLYUS “cannot be combined with any other promotions”. So bank codes such as Air India’s card EMI offers won’t stack with it. Log in before you search, then check the final price at checkout to see which discounts actually applied.
What it’s worth
Because the ₹20,000 comes off the base fare, not the total, the real saving depends on how much of your ticket is base fare. On long-haul economy, taxes and carrier surcharges make up a big share of the price.
| Example return ticket | Total price | Of which base fare | FLYUS saves | Real discount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Economy, Delhi–New York | ₹1,00,000 | ₹60,000 | ₹20,000 | 20% |
| Cheaper economy fare | ₹75,000 | ₹35,000 | ₹20,000 | 27% |
| Business | ₹3,50,000 | ₹2,90,000 | ₹20,000 | 6% |
Illustrative figures only, assuming the full ₹20,000 applies. Check the fare breakdown at checkout; “up to” means some fares may get less.
So it’s a strong deal on economy and a small one on business, where ₹20,000 barely dents the fare.
Cash or points?
FLYUS is a cash-only deal; it doesn’t work on Maharaja Club points or Cash + Points bookings. If you were planning to use points for a US trip, price both: work out the cash fare after FLYUS, then divide the saving by the points the award would cost. If that comes to less than about ₹1 a point, pay cash with FLYUS and keep your points for a better use, such as business class. A paid ticket normally still earns Maharaja Club points (the FLYUS terms don’t say otherwise), so add your membership number when you book.
| You are… | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Already planning to pay cash for a US trip in economy | ✅ Book by 22 Oct with FLYUS, logged in |
| Flying business | ⚠️ Use it if you’re paying cash anyway, but ₹20,000 off a business fare is small |
| Travelling with children | ⚠️ Only adult fares get the discount |
| Saving points for a US trip | ❌ FLYUS doesn’t apply to awards; compare the cash price first |
| Dates not fixed yet | ⚠️ You get one free date change, but normal cancellation fees still apply |
Air India’s bank EMI codes can’t be used with FLYUS; if you’d rather pay in EMIs, compare the two in our Air India bank offers post.
DealUni take: a genuine saving if you were going to buy a US economy ticket anyway, and the free date change helps. It does nothing for points collectors and very little for business class. Book by 22 October, and log in first.
