Plane over a lit hotel tower at sunset: 6,000 Turkish miles for Hilton stays and JAL Mileage Bank support going online-only

Quick Hits: 6,000 Turkish Miles for Hilton Stays, JAL Support

Updated as of 20 Oct 2026. Details are from Turkish Airlines’ Hilton Honors campaign page and a JAL Mileage Bank notice emailed to members on 19 Oct 2026. We value a Turkish Miles&Smiles mile at ₹0.75–1.00.

Two small updates this week: free Turkish Airlines miles for Hilton stays, and a change to how you reach JAL Mileage Bank from India.

Hilton stays earn up to 6,000 bonus Turkish miles

Hilton Honors members can earn up to 6,000 bonus Miles&Smiles miles for up to three stays at any Hilton hotel worldwide, on top of their normal Hilton points.

The step people miss: registering isn’t enough. Before your first checkout, go to your Hilton Honors profile, add your Miles&Smiles number under Preferences and pick Miles&Smiles as your preferred airline partner. Your name must match in both accounts. Changing the preferred partner can change how your normal Hilton stays earn, so check the earning setting in your profile while you’re there.

What it’s worth: the full 6,000 miles is about ₹4,500–6,000 at our valuation. That’s a nice extra if you already have three separate Hilton stays this quarter, say a work trip plus a Diwali weekend at a Hilton, Conrad or DoubleTree. It isn’t worth splitting one stay into three bookings to chase. Turkish miles are useful for Star Alliance awards, including Air India; see our post on buying Turkish miles for how we value them.

JAL Mileage Bank support moves online from 28 Oct

JAL emailed Mileage Bank members on 19 Oct: from 28 Oct 2026, JMB queries in the Asia and Oceania region, which includes India, will be handled only through a contact form on JAL’s website, not by phone.

  • Still by phone and chat: flight bookings, award tickets and JAL international upgrade awards.
  • Form only: everything else about your JMB account, such as missing miles or account changes.
  • Replies: within two business days, Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am–5:30 pm Japan time (6 am–2 pm IST), in English or Japanese. Closed on Sundays and Japanese holidays.

If you have a missing-miles claim or an account issue you’d rather sort out by phone, call before 27 Oct. Award bookings aren’t affected, including JAL’s 30% off award sale (book by 31 Oct).

DealUni take: register for the Hilton offer if you have any Hilton stay booked before 31 Dec; it’s free miles. The JAL change is just admin, but sort out any open JMB issue by phone before 28 Oct.
